Fundraising & Donations A fantastic music program cannot exist without the support of parishioners and patrons. We are grateful for those of you who have contributed to the music ministry in the past, and ask all of you who love and appreciate our choirs, cantors and instrumentalists to consider donating some of your time, talent and treasure to make some of our musical dreams come true. At this time, we are looking to raise money for the following:
April 28, 2010 Update: On Sunday, May 16, we will feature our new CONCERT GRAND PIANO at the 10:30 a.m. Mass! A dream come true, the piano is a Kawai Concert Grand and will be the first acoustical piano All Souls Parish has had in its worship spaces. This has been made possible through the more than generous gift of Mary Margaret O’Shea, an All Souls Parishioner and Patron of our music program. The concert grand is being given in loving memory of Mary Cathrine Heirholzer, Mary Margaret’s sister. Mary Cathrine was a great lover of music and according to Mary Margaret, “This could not be a more fitting tribute.” Joining David in playing the piano that day will be professional pianist Maria Santilli. David noted that he spent countless hours researching piano builders and their techniques – current and over the years. He also traveled around playing piano after piano. David had his mind set on a Steinway Grand for the ultimate instrument in a worship space. “I played about 7 Steinway Grands, Baldwins, Yamaha, and various other brands. Not one of those pianos could begin to match the sound and action of this Kawai.
